On a faraway volunteer trip, back in the time of cameras with actual film inside, our team leader encouraged us to put our gadgets away and instead take a photo each day in our minds – to really pause for a moment and give whatever was before us our full attention and appreciation. Each night we shared our mental snapshots over dinner, and even now, those images are vivid to me. A single massive tree silhouetted against the sunrise – click. A bumpy trip with an ox cart to shovel sand at the river – click. A little kid taking my hand, finally convinced I was not a ghost – click.
Lately time seems to be blurring by at ever-greater speed, but this week I got to sit in the park with a dear friend in the sunshine, while a steady breeze blew the leaves off the trees like a cheesy autumn scene in a Hallmark movie.
Dear ones, the moments and days and even years are flying along.
May we savor each moment of grace and joy and beauty and peace.
Click.

Just released this week is the OnBeing episode on Ocean of Stars, the book I mentioned a few weeks back. A delightful conversation with Krista Tippett, Azita Ardakani, and Robin Wall Kimmerer – full of wisdom and wonder.
