You know that wonderful feeling when you’re in the zone, zooming along at peak creativity and efficiency and effectiveness? Of course you do! It’s one of the best feelings in the world, a feeling of competence and mastery and effortless power. Something like flying.
What’s a lot less fun is the clunky, floundering, unflattering practice when something is new, when you’re not an expert and maybe never will be. It’s so awful, that awkward, lurching, junior-high-gym-class kind of feeling. I go to great lengths to avoid it… but there’s a cost.
No floundering, no flying.
Without the hard work of the stumbling around phase, we never get to soar.
So, dear Honeybees, where will you flounder today?
